Gatemi Catalog Mode for WooCommerce turns a shop into a catalog: the add-to-cart button goes, the price goes if you want it to, and a link to your enquiry form stands in their place.
And the purchase is actually refused. This is the part the category gets wrong. Removing a button is decoration — anybody can still POST ?add-to-cart=123, and a stale page in somebody's tab does it by accident. Here a catalog product is not purchasable as far as WooCommerce is concerned, adding it is refused with a message the shopper reads, and one sitting in a cart from before you threw the switch is taken out of it. One filter (woocommerce_is_purchasable) covers surfaces this plugin never has to know about: the Store API, the blocks cart, checkout.
One resolver decides everything. The product's own override first — a catalog store's one sellable sample beats every rule above it — then the roles catalog mode applies to, then the store switch and its categories. Because there is only one answer, the button, the price, the cart and the Store API cannot disagree.
Prices leave the markup, not just the screen. They are filtered out of the price HTML *and* out of the product's structured data. A price hidden with CSS is still in the page, still in the JSON-LD a search engine reads, and still in every feed a store exports.

Die Doku deckt tatsächlich ab, was man braucht. Catalog Mode meldet sich nie und macht trotzdem seine Arbeit.

Un cuarto de hora, ni más ni menos. Ni un error en el log desde que instalé Catalog Mode. Muy sólido.

Works fine behind my page cache. Catalog Mode didn’t need any of my own code around it.

Doesn’t load a pile of scripts on every page, which was my worry. Everything in Catalog Mode worked first time.

Ich hatte vorher zwei andere ausprobiert. Die Einstellungen von Catalog Mode sind da, wo man sie erwartet.
