It answers from your shop, or it says it doesn’t know
Most AI chat plugins bolt a general-purpose model onto a shop and hope for the best. The model has never seen your catalogue, so it invents prices, promises delivery you never offered, and confidently describes a returns policy that is not yours.
This one cannot do that. Every fact it states comes from a search of your own products and pages, or a live read of your own WooCommerce data. When your content does not cover a question it says so plainly and offers to put the customer in touch with a person — because a support assistant that admits what it does not know is worth having, and one that guesses is a liability.
Prices and stock are read live, never remembered
An index is a photograph. A passage that says “£39” keeps saying it after the sale ends, and a model will repeat it with complete confidence. So prices and stock are never indexed at all: they are read from WooCommerce at the moment a customer asks, and rendered by WooCommerce’s own formatting rather than rewritten by the model.
Orders, without handing them to strangers
A customer gives their order number and the email the order was placed with — the same two things your order tracking page asks for — and gets status, items, totals and tracking.
A licence key or a download link is different: it is a bearer credential worth money, order numbers are often sequential, and email addresses are frequently guessable. So those need one more step: a six-digit code sent to the address already on the order. Somebody who guessed the pair still cannot receive it. Customers signed in to an account that owns the order skip both steps automatically.
Failed lookups are word-for-word identical whether the order does not exist or the email is wrong, so the assistant can never be used to confirm that an order exists — and attempts are rate limited per visitor.
A real ticket, in your real inbox
When a person is needed the assistant collects the details, stores the ticket in wp-admin with the conversation that led to it, and emails you. Your reply goes straight back to the customer from whatever mail client you already use — the notification carries their address as its reply-to and the reference in its subject. No mailbox credentials to store, no IMAP extension required, nothing to break.
Your spend is capped, and visible
Set a daily ceiling in your own currency and a daily call limit. Both are checked before the call rather than after the bill, and when one is reached the assistant offers a ticket instead of quietly costing more. A meter in wp-admin shows what has been spent, and a conversations screen shows every chat, what it answered, and which answers customers marked unhelpful — which is the fastest way to find what your knowledge is missing.
Built to be boring about privacy
Customers are told, before they type, that they are talking to an AI and that their message goes to OpenAI. The widget loads one small stylesheet and one small script from your own server, only on pages where it appears — nothing from a CDN, no jQuery, no third-party tracking. It holds no nonce, so the page it sits on stays cacheable. Transcripts are pruned on a schedule you set, and conversations behind an open ticket are always kept.
What you need
An OpenAI API key, from platform.openai.com. You pay OpenAI directly for what your customers use — this plugin has no markup and no middleman. Put the key in wp-config.php and it stays out of your database entirely.

It’s done every single thing the listing said it would. I’ve thrown a fair bit at AI Support and it’s coped.

A whole season on it, including the busy one. The bit of AI Support I use most is exactly the bit I bought it for. Buy it.

Costa meno dell’alternativa e fa di più.

Excellent bit of software. Single Site covers everything I actually use.

No conflicts with anything else I’m running. AI Support is one of about four plugins I wouldn’t run a shop without.
